Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008

About Us Contact Us

The CPSIA represents the most comprehensive overhaul of consumer product safety legislation
in the United States since the 1970s and effects all consumer goods, notably toys and
children’s products.
Although there are numerous other provisions, the law’s fundamental
intent is to protect children from potentially harmful substances in toys or other children’s
products, like cribs or pacifiers.

This law has impacted the entire toy industry and significantly effects the cake
decorating industry,
not only for its strict requirements and short timelines, but also because
the law itself has been a moving target. Many elements of the law are ambiguous and open to
varied interpretations, and the CPSC has been slow to provide clarification. However, DecoPac
has been on top of this situation since before the law was enacted; we are one step ahead of
the regulations (and most of the industry) and will always be in full compliance well before the
law requires.

Our goal is for the implementation of this law to be painless and even transparent to our
customers. You may be assured that, as always, DecoPac’s products and processes are in full
compliance to all applicable regulations and we are diligently looking out for your safety.
